JESUS – THE COMFORT ZONE

It was celebration time in our family when our LORD JESUS CHRIST brought our first son into this world. Life became happier and busier after his birth. Being the first male grand child to grandparents on both sides, there was lots of petting and pampering. He was showered with much love and care, from all our family members. In short, he was taken care of like a prince. All this went on for just five months since his birth.
One day as my wife was changing his nappies, she saw a swelling as big as a table - tennis ball just above Stephen’s testicles. Worried we went to the father, of one my students, a famous doctor, for advice. He diagnosed him and told us that Stephen has to be operated as soon as possible as the swelling might lead to more complications. We were worried, but he exhorted us to go for a second and then a third opinion from different doctors. However, unfortunately the doctors joined in the chorus, “YOUR SON HAS TO BE OPERATED IMMEDIATELY.”
My wife and I started praying fervently; we reminded the Lord that Stephen, the first born of our family was HIS property. We also reminded him of all the promises he had made on Stephen's life. Trying to find a permanent solution and as a final effort, we went to the Government Children’s hospital, where NGO’s, Government staff and their families were given concessions. My wife, a government-aided schoolteacher was eligible for all of these concessions. In addition, there was another reason to go that far.
As the cost of the operation was estimated to be about Rupees10, 000/-, way above our standard of living we had no other choice except to go to this Hospital for treatment. The Chief Medical Officer diagnosed him and voiced the same as the other doctors. He also explain that as Stephen was too young, he could wait untill he completed his 1st Birthday, for the operation. Downcast, we came back home and sought help from our only hope – JESUS. My wife started applying prayer oil and prayed for him, with all the hope and faith she could muster.
Suddenly a thought struck very hard! Why not give one tenth (tithe) of the cost of the operation to our Lord? Well, I cannot say if it was from the spirit of our Lord or it was an emotional outburst. I spoke to my wife and we decided to give Rupees 1000/- that’s 1/10 of the cost of the operation. During those times, we used to have just about Rupees 1200 after giving tithe, paying the rent and electricity bill. We had to run the family with this amount. Both of us had to travel everyday to work, buy rice, groceries etc all with Rupees 1200 we also knew it would be a big risk. However, we did it since we were not interested in going for a loan as our Lord calls us to be givers and not takers. That’s what Deuteronomy 15:6 says, “For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.”
And would you believe it? “Glory be to God” One fine day I heard my wife scream in surprise. Confused, I ran to her. We saw what we couldn’t believe. Our son was healed! The swelling had gone completely. The doctors were amazed. They were not ready to believe it, leave alone accept this as divine healing. To top it all that month our Lord Jesus Christ took care of us in a royal way. He met all our needs amazingly. The name of our Lord Jesus Christ is our refuge. The miracle had attested to this in a glorious way.

His name shall be called wonderful, Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number”Job9:10.
In addition, here we see his wondrous work in our son’s life. We give all glory praise, glory and honor to the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
We could have stayed at the comfort zone of the NGO’s Concession given by the hospital; where we don’t have to spend a single pie. Nevertheless, we preferred to take the risk. We stepped out of the comfort zone. Because we knew, JESUS was not in the operation theatre but outside. Waiting to heal the sick and mend the broken. We are healed by HIS stripes, which he accepted on the way to Calvary carrying all our sins, shame, pain and agony.

”But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
About 2000 years back a lady who had spent her fortune to be healed from her bleeding stepped out of her comfort zone. She must have been very weak and weary after those years of sickness. She must have been stinking because she was bleeding all through those years. She must have literally crawled, as her disease would have drained all her energy, all her strength.
One day she heard that Jesus was passing through her street. She made up her mind to reach out for him. She would have pushed herself to that place puffing and panting. Half way through, she may have thought about getting back to her comfort zone. She may have wondered if she took a wrong decision of getting out of her bed. She also knew that getting near Jesus is next to impossible. If at all she got a chance to go near him, the jostling crowd could suffocate her. But, she was prepared to take the risk, for she remembered how the Lord’s garment filled the temple which Solomon built, of how the priests were not able to stand in the presence of the Lord. She knew that she would be seeing the same Lord in front of her, in flesh and blood. With one mighty push, she leaned forward and touched the hem of the garment of Jesus CHRIST-The anointed one! Jehovah Rapha – The healer! For she knew, of the garment which was on Jesus! She was ready to take the risk! Glory to God! Her faith paid off. There was instant healing, divine healing and permanent healing. When Jesus heals us, it is always a permanent one. It would neither be quarter healing or half healing, but complete healing. He always wants to makes us whole.
Step out my beloved. You might be terribly sick; you might have just concluded that you are going to spend the rest of your life in your bed. Step out; God wants to glorify his name through your sickness, through your decision to step out of your comfort zone. Jesus could have walked into her room to heal her. However, he wants her to show her faith in action. You know MIRACLES precedes OBEDIENCE and OBEDIENCE precedes FAITH. You cannot have your seed of faith stuffed under your pillow and watch it grow to give fruits. Take that seed out from the comfort zone and sow it. Obey! Watch out for the fruit. Halleluiah!
Hebrews 5:8 –“ Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.” How about learning obedience from Jesus, who showed it in His pain and agony for our sake?
Oh yes! Raise your voice and say,
"You're my strength when I am weak

You're the treasure that I seek
You're my all in all"
Let your praise take the stuff out of the devil...........
About 2000 years back, one night on the Sea of Galilee, a boat was tossed up like a paper cup. Some of the disciples of Jesus were on the boat. Terrified they called up to the lord. Suddenly in that dark night, they saw Jesus, the creator walking over the rough raging sea. The disciples panicked. They thought it was a ghost. Nevertheless, Peter, amidst the chaos, knew who was walking over the storm. He asked our Lord if he could walk over the sea. He was ready to come out of his “BOAT ZONE”, out of his comfort zone. His friends would have mocked at him, tried to stop his daring adventure, they would have even told him that he had gone crazy, but he turned deaf to them.
All that he wanted was, to do what Jesus did; to walk over the tempestuous waters. Moreover, he did as long as he had his focus fixed on Jesus. He did what he didn’t do before, walked over the raging waters.
Jesus wants us to be crazy to our friends, to our colleagues and to our family. Scores of times, we would come across those same words from our friends, colleagues and family. They would warn us not to take a risk. They would say negative things, which would test our faith; but Jesus wants us to be crazy to this world. The bible says,

”Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (I Corinthians. 1:25)
Let’s be crazy to this world. Let’s be crazy for JESUS!
Just a month after our son’s 2nd Birthday, his baby sitter who was taking care of him since he was nine months old, decided to quit. We didn’t know what do. Since both my wife and I were teachers, we would be out the whole day and we certainly needed some one to look after our son. This happened during the annual examination period in our school, hence we weren’t permitted to take leave either. Confused, I asked my school correspondent if I could bring my son to school, so that he could be with me, fortunately I was granted permission.
I also knew this could not continue during the next academic year. Well, I would be doing injustice to my employers, so we had to take a decision, of either putting him in a preschool and staying at our comfort zone or resign my job and take a risk, We prayed and God spoke to us through the Bible. He said he would make springs in the desert as in,

Isaiah 41:18 -“I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.”

Since my wife worked in a government aided school, and I in a private run school, I decided to step out of my comfort zone, “PROFESSIONAL ZONE”. God is so faithful he didn’t let us down. Jehovah Jireh- Our providence and provider. You would find it incredible I got a part time teacher’s job in a prestigious school, where I was allowed to have my son along with me even as I worked. Only god can do this! Why because, I was ready to come out of our comfort zone. Miracle after miracle started happening in our lives. First the part time job and then an amazing thing is that, I have about 25 odd students every year from STD II to V. Each one carrying his or her own keyboard to school, both our kids got admission in the same school, where getting one seat itself is a miracle. God planned it all for us – All things are possible with God.
Well, are you in the midst of taking on tough and important decision of your life? Pray! Ask our Lord to lead you, if you believe you would see the glory of our Lord, Don’t just stop there in your belief and step out of your comfort zone, all eyes focused on Jesus and not on your situation. Your situation might be as dark and as raging as the storm that the disciples faced. Don’t worry; step out my beloved. Jesus is not in your comfort zone, he is walking over the raging storm – satan might create a storm which would just be like that of a storm in a tea cup.
But, you should know that satan’s place is under your sole. As Pastor Benny Hinn would often say “write satan’s name under sole of your feet, because that’s the place where he should be. Don’t give room for satan or else he will take you for a ride. Halleluiah! We are called to be winners. With Christ Jesus, we are more than conquers. If God be with us who can be against us, “Fear Not” these words are repeated 365 times in the bible, one for each day. Cast all your burdens unto Jesus he cares for your.
&am p;nb sp; &am p;nb sp; “Cast your burdens unto Jesus
&am p;nb sp; &am p;nb sp; He cares for your,
&am p;nb sp; &am p;nb sp; Higher, higher, higher, higher, higher
&am p;nb sp; &am p;nb sp; Lift up Jesus higher”
Many a time all of us come across situations where only a miracle could redress the situation. Nevertheless, we are not ready to pay the price. Even Jesus paid a painful price on the cross of Calvary to redeem us. Sadly, we are used to getting everything free. We have an obsessive craze for getting everything FREE. A servant of God says “GIVE THE LORD UNTIL IT HURTS.” Let’s give Him in our inconvenience.
The widow of Sariphat did just that. She could have stayed, lived or died in her comfort zone, but she chose to take a risk, and did what Elijah told her, She gave from her “Inconvenience”, She knew that her days were numbered; she knew that this would be her last meal. Maybe that’s why she picked just two sticks to make the cake, for she knew that it doesn’t need more than just two sticks to bake the cake; just two sticks for a little flour and little oil.
How could she part with that? Nevertheless, she knew that the miracle was on its way and it would go on for the next three years. She didn’t have an iota of doubt about the work of our Lord. The Lord who fed the Israelites for years in the wilderness with the heavenly manna - the bread of the angels, with quails when they asked for and water from the rock to quench their thirst. She knew that her God is an awesome God. She was ready to come out of her comfort zone. She knew that there was no room for IFS and BUTS. She just did what Elijah told her to do. She made the cakes and gave them first to the prophet. As we all know, the rest was history. They lived in a miracle phase for three years. She was ready to part with her all. She was ready to part with her best for she knew what taking a risk in all about. For the next three years, she and her son did not just eat cakes but miracles became their fare. Each cake had MIRACLE written all over it.
We at least can get inspired by this widow to know about what taking a risk is all about? Nevertheless, she didn’t have any inspiration whatsoever. She didn’t have a hero or a role model to look up to. Still, she came out of her comfort zone. All that she knew was that her help cometh from above,
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1,2). She came out of her CAKE ZONE.
It was Sunday morning, Darryl; an anointed keyboard player was sitting in his church. Just before the service started, his pastor had given his weekly allowance. He was excited; he couldn’t wait for the service to get over. He knew he would have chicken for lunch that day. It’s been days since he had tasted chicken. As the service was proceeding towards the offertory him, suddenly the Lord asked him to part with the money he had in to the offertory box, He knew that there was not a single penny at home; he was shocked but still he obeyed. He had no other go but to please the Lord.
All glory, honor, praise and power be to Jesus name. When you obey, your harvest will be in abundance. About three days later, unexpectedly, one of their family friends came and gave them hundred times, of what he gave the Lord. HALLELUJAH’. This could not have happened even in the wildest of dreams in the given circumstance.
Nevertheless, our Lord brings everything out of nothing. He created this whole universe out of nothing! Unless we become nothing, we cannot receive everything God always chooses emptiness to fill. He chose the empty jars to turn water into wine. He chose the empty fishing vessel of Peter to fill it with abundance. He chose empty tummies to fill them through five loaves of bread and two fishes.
Obedience is better than sacrifice, he knew this well that if he is not going to obey and part all that he had yearned for, he is not going to touch our Lord’s heart, Darryl stepped out of his CHICKEN ZONE! He touched God's heart through his obedience.
Are you ready my friend to part with the best you have for the lord. Abraham was ready to sacrifice Isaac, his only offspring. Now he is the father of a powerful nation.
A lady broke her costly alabaster jar and showed her love for the Lord. We still hear sermon after sermon about her sacrifice. Even Jesus talks about the widow who gave two pennies, which was all that she had. Give and it shall be given unto you. Giving is the only area where God is asking us to test him,
”Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive (Malachi 3:10).
We test his patience, we test his faithfulness and we test him in all that we shouldn’t. Isn’t it the time we change our attitude? Giving is sowing! Sow your best seed for the Lord and see how it grows. You know, each tiny seed has the promise of a forest in it. You may say I don’t have anything to give; all that the Lord needs is your heart. You should know that you are a seed, a precious seed for the Lord. All that you sow comes back in hundreds. So, be careful of what you sow. You will surely reap for what you sow. When you sow a foul word, you will surely get back hundreds of foul words. If you sow evil thoughts, you have to reap evil. If your words are negative, definitely all your efforts will give negative results.
Galatians 6:8 - “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”
I know a brother who, during his college days, used to say that he would surely go for a registered marriage, instead of a marriage in the church, wedding cake, music, feast and all. You know what happened, even though he tried hard to have his wedding in a church with cake, feast, music and all, he was unable to have that kind of a blessed wedding. Circumstances were such that registered marriage was inevitable. So, please have a positive attitude. God has kept life and death in our tongue.
“Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing.” James-3: 10
So, lets sow positive seeds, seeds of faith like Abraham. Abraham came out of Syria as a single person. That single seed is a nation now. Israel, it is the fulcrum of all of that has happened and all that is going to happen in the world; whatever happens in Israel or whatever is going to happen in Israel has a direct impact in the economy, growth and fall of each nation around the world. We too can create a remarkable impact amongst our family, colleague and friends. We too are called as a nation, a spiritual Israel.
”Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.”(Joel 2:21)
God is asking us to come out alone like how Abraham came alone from his land. He knew who was dealing with his life. Well, are you aware of who you are and what you are called for? If you are ready to come out of your comfort zone and give yourself to our Lord, you will see your life grow and yield fruit. You will surely be a blessing to your family, friends and colleagues. You will become the fulcrum of your world. People will be amazed to see the way you are led by our Lord. Remember that you are a seed- a precious seed. You may be tiny, you maybe single but when you sow yourself for the Lord, you will turn into a garden and then into a forest and then into a nation. Will you sow yourself now? Will you sow your best for the Lord?
Daniel was ready to pay a price. He was ready to be thrown into the lion’s den. He knew that the battle belonged to the Lord. He was ready to have a night out to become a barbecue to those hungry lions. He did all this for the sake of the Lord, whom he loved most. He loved his king too, whom he served faithfully and sincerely, but when it came to worship, he was steadfast. He would not fall in front of that idol which his king had made. He knew that he should face the consequence if he didn’t obey the king’s order. He chose to disobey the king and obey the Lord's commandments.
It breaks my heart to see so many so called Christians stand in front of the idols in the places where they work, while the gentiles worship their idols on Fridays and on other festival days. They want to please their bosses. What a pity! They fail to understand that they have to please the one true God-JESUS who died on the cross for you and me. They fear men more than GOD. The bible says that the fear of men brings a snare.
Proverbs 29:25 - The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

They have so many self-centered questions like what if my boss transfers, what if I loose my importance and don’t get the treatment, which I am getting now? What if they give a transfer or give a memo and humiliate me? This is where we need to prove our integrity and faithfulness to our loving Lord. Does he not love us as we are? Did he not pay a cruel price to show HIS love for us? Didn't HE? What price are we going to pay? Stand in front of idols and crucify JESUS repeatedly?
Daniel was ready to come out of his luxurious comfort zone. He grabbed this opportunity to show to this world what kind of stuff he’s been made off. Daniel knew that he would have to lose all his luxury for the sake of the Lord, where a simple act of bowing in front of the idol would do him good. Nevertheless, he was willing to come out of his comfort zone. He knew that in that country, no one would ever ask him why he worshiped the idol. However, still he preferred to lose his luxury. He chose to be tough. There is a saying; when the going gets tough, the tough get going! Halleluiah! Daniel showed his character. He showed what stuff he had been made of. He knew that the battle belongs to the Lord.
Before our marriage, my wife was working in a private school run by a Hindu devotee. They had poojas every Fridays, And once in a year on the festival of the “goddess of wisdom” the teachers had to go and fall at the school founder’s feet, get her blessings in the form of a blouse piece and some cash. People fail to realize that the one who is knowledge and the one who gives us knowledge is ready to prepare a feast. Please read Proverbs 9:1–6, verse5 and 6 says,
“Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled. 6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.”
The old wine is waiting for us to call his name. Just call his name and he fills you with knowledge and wisdom.
Verse10 says “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding”
My wife didn’t know about this custom of falling at the feet and other rituals, as she had just joined that school. Came that day and all the teachers including some Christian Teachers were seen going, inside the founder’s room, falling at her feet and getting her so called blessings. When my wife saw this, she went and told the private secretary to the founder that she would not fall at any man’s feet. And that she would fall only at the feet of our Lord JESUS CHRIST who saved her from sin and then she walked away from the office and went home without bothering too much about the next day.
The following day, as my wife entered the school office to sign her attendance register, she was shown the door out. She was given the termination order. She just rejoiced in the Lord and went home, with joy in her heart and praise in her lips. Now, jobless days passed, then weeks went by. One afternoon as she was playing with her mother and sister, she had a call to come for an interview to the CSI diocesan’s office, for a music teacher’s post the next day.
She went for that interview. As she stepped into the Bishop’s Office, the Bishop who was interviewing said to the selection committee, that he had already heard my wife sing and that he is selecting her for one of the two vacant posts. Glory be to God.
At the same time, many were seen waiting outside to attend the interview, for just two vacant posts that I had already mentioned. The Bishop enquired as to the place where my wife lived, and gave her the appointment in the school that was nearer to her house. After the interview, the Diocesan Educational Officer happened to come out of the interview. When he saw the sad expression on my wife’s face, confused, he asked her what her problem was. She told him that she had been praying to get the appointment in one of the most prestigious and one of the oldest schools in the city. Here you must remember that this teacher’s post is for a Govt. Aided School. When he heard this, he immediately took my wife to the Bishop and told him about my wife’s desire. God will make a way where there is no way. The bishop immediately gave her the appointment to the school that my wife desired, even though the school was a long way off from my wife’s house, but still the Bishop gave the appointment.
You know, our Lord fulfils all our heart’s desires. All that he needs is our steadfast love. It’s nice to know that our Lord is faithful. However, are we faithful? Daniel was faithful. He didn’t bother about his life, because he knew that the Lord has carved him in his hand and no force can snatch him away for he knew that he is the Apple of His eye. Halleluiah!
Every individual will come across this kind of situation, where we have to show our integrity and faithfulness. Above all, we have to prove ourselves.
My dearly beloved, come out of your comfort zone. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in worships, in persecutions, in difficulties, FOR WHEN I AM WEAK; THEN I AM STRONG.”1Corinthians12: 9, 10.
Aren’t these words encouraging and power packed?
Let him lead the way, instead of we taking the lead. They were out the night before on a fishing trip. But, they returned back empty. Maybe they were dejected, disillusioned and depressed for not getting their efforts worth. Just as they were washing their nets, JESUS came by their way and asked them for one of their boats, which they did give. When JESUS preached from the boat, they heard the gushing of living waters that morning. The living water was flowing like a river quenching the thirst of all those who were thirsty. Peter and his friends heard it too. Now, after the sermon was over, JESUS asked them to push their boats deep into the sea. JESUS would have wanted to give something back for those, who gave their boats. Peter said, “Lord we tried the whole of last night but we didn’t get a single fish. Still, I will do what you had asked me to do.” He pushed the boat again into the sea. Remember Peter was no novice to the sea, or to fishing. He had been there since his birth, a professional fisherman, who knew about the sea of Galillee, as he knew the palm of his hand. Nevertheless, he did obey. He didn’t have what we call the professional ego.
Each Sunday morning we hear sermon after sermon but still we don't want to give our best to Jesus. We think our knowledge; power and money can get us through any kind of situation. When we had come across the same kind of situation didn’t we think about our course of action in our own intellectual way? Did we not try to solve our failures by our own understanding? Stop doing research on JESUS. The bible says,
”For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.”(I Cor. 3:19)
Peter was ready to become a fool. He knew who was dealing with his life. He had just heard the living words, word of life, words which created this universe, the word which came down in flesh. He knew it! He knew HIM!
Deep into the sea, Jesus showed him the place to cast his net; Peter and his friends must have been fishing in the same place the previous night. Still Peter obeyed. He knew HIM. The fishes of the sea knew that they have a job at hand. They knew that their creator’s name is to be glorified through them. They jumped into the net, one behind the other, to glorify their creator. Oh! No! Peter sent a SOS to his friends. Now he has two boats full of fish! It’s all his. Now, he can own a fleet of boats. Have a luxurious life.
When they came to the shore things were different. Peter pleaded with Jesus to getaway from them for he was a sinner. Nevertheless, Jesus asked Peter to follow him. Do you know, Jesus hates sins but loves the sinners. Peter left everything the boats, nets, two boats full of fishes, his future as a fisherman. He left everything and followed our Lord. He just walked out of his COMFORT ZONE. He knew who was dealing with his life. Do you know who wants to deal with your life? On the other hand, do you want to deal your life yourself? Just one message changed Peter’s life. How many messages did you hear? Have you taken any decision yet? Let JESUS deal with your life. He already has a beautiful plan for you. He will change your MESS into a MESSAGE your TRIALS into TRIUMPHS and your TESTS into TESTIMONIES. Are you ready to step out of your comfort zone?
There was a prosperous businessman in our city that deals with mats and carpets. He came to the city from his native village in search of better prospects. When he started his business in the city, he used to carry those beautifully woven coir mats on his head and sell there on the streets. Being a born again Christian, he walked with the Lord and sought directions at every step. He didn't grumble for he knew that the joy of the Lord is the strength. He tithed without seizing. He didn't lookout for returns. Most us bring offering to our God not because we love him for HIS grace and mercy but because we feel that if we give Him, he will give back in much greater measure. We think we are doing business. When we don't get returns in our time, we start grumbling the bible says
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.2 Corinthians 9:7
This man gave with joy in His heart. The businessman went inside, brought the keys of his brand new car, gave it to the pastor, and asked the pastor to pray for them, which the pastor did. After the prayer was over the business man told the pastor," Pastor, this car in yours now, the Lord asked me to give it to you.” The whole family was shocked. Their faces went pale. Nevertheless, the businessman was least bit bothered. The pastor left the house with the brand new car which was his now.
Years later, the same business man now owns a fleet of cars, a very big shopping complex and so on God has blessed him abundantly. He was ready to sacrifice his comfort zone for the sake of the Lord. Jesus wants us to take a risk, because JESUS wants to give you the feet of the hind that would enable you to stand on a high rock so that the whole world will would see you grow and glorify God. You cannot follow JESUS in your car. If your wheel goes flat, you may have to carry a spare wheel. Instead, let Jesus carry you in HIS nail pierced hands. Jesus wants to hold your hands and teach us to walk in HIS steps. The path of a Christian life is not a bed of roses. The way to heaven is narrow. Sometimes you may have to crawl, you may even have to roll. That’s the place, where JESUS is. He wants us to lean on to him totally. Perhaps, it’s time for you to receive a miracle from God. Step out of your car and walk with JESUS before your wheel goes flat. He thought Delilah’s lap was his comfort zone. He revealed his heart to her. There were no secrets between them. The Bible says,
Proverbs 11:13 - A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

However, it was different in Samson’s life. Fortunately for him, he chose a different subject.
In spite of this, he was in a trance. His day started with this girl and it never ended. They would talk over the phone all through the night. The telephone bill zoomed high. The guy’s father had no other option but to disconnect the telephone connection. Do you think this stopped him from calling her? He was even crazier about her. Their parents knew of their affair and they even went to each other’s house together. In short, the whole world knew about their affair.
As both of them went to a spirit filled church, I asked them one day, if they both prayed about their affair. They even told me that I would be proposing the toast at their wedding reception.
MAN PROPOSES BUT . .
One Friday evening as this guy was coming back from church in his bike, he met with an accident; was hospitalized for a severe wound on his right leg. The fourth toe of his leg was severed and the doctors had just fixed it in its place. They gave 72 hrs for that toe to come back to life. However, JESUS the creator had different plans. The doctors had to remove that toe, as it didn’t respond to the treatment. Glory be to God.
This changed the life of this guy. His comfort zone, his girl friend, was not able to accept a person without a toe as her future partner. She thought her family would insult her. She thought it was a shame. Slowly but surely, she started walking away from his life. This guy turned mad. He was not able to be normal. He tried his uttermost to win her back. He coaxed her, begged her but she didn’t heed. She just walked out of his life.
This poor guy was so heart - broke that he made up his mind to end his life. He bought some poison and before consuming it he went to meet a family whom he knew since his school days. Jesus touched his life miraculously that night through that family. He changed his heart that night and gave him what he didn’t have before – THE JOY OF SALVATION. The renewed his life and anointed his head with oil. Now he is out of what he thought was his comfort zone. Halleluiah! God is using him mightily among his friends.
Seeing the change in his life, the same girl who once walked out of his life tried in vain to get back into his life. On February 14, 2005, when the completely young, the world over were celebrating Valentine’s Day. He sent an SMS to my mobile. It went like this.
“This year I am going to celebrate Valentines Day with my real valentine who loves me as I am” that’s none other than JESUS who died on the rugged cross for you and me.”
Dear young soldier for Christ, are you still in your comfort zone? What do you think is your comfort zone? Is it your Valentine? Drugs? Whatever is your comfort zone, step out of it. Once, I was a drug addict I thought it was my comfort zone. I would start the day with drugs and it would never end until JESUS met me in my filth. I was stinking to the core; none to look unto. I was bringing disrepute, discomfort and depression to my parents. I was found sitting on the streets and smoking marijuana, swallowing pills, drinking alcohol and chasing brown sugar.
It was because of HIS grace that HE retrieved me from the pit. It was so hard to come out of it, but I had to take a decision. I stepped out of it and now I am here talking to you. JESUS cannot be where you are. He wants you to be where he needs you. Come closer and look at the cross, from where JESUS showed his love. How could someone love us in spite of all our drawbacks and shortcomings? How could some one give HIS life for the sake of dust? Remember GOD created us from dust. How could HE sacrifice HIS life to save, redeem and heal dust? My beloved, God wants to use the youth for his glory. Don’t waste your talents on your comfort zone. Step out of it. Let JESUS use you before the devil starts using you, your time and your talents.
I am reminded of Joseph. He was a blessing to his boss. He was given authority over everyone and everything of his household. However, when his master’s wife tried to seduce him he left his garment and ran away from sin. This is what he said; How can I sin against my God? My GOD is a Holy God surrounded by the voices of cherubin and serabins singing,
HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, LORD OF HOSTS
THOU ART HOLY
Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.(Isa. 6:2,3)

He knew that. Therefore, he didn’t step out of his comfort zone but ran away from it. God wants us to run away from sin. The bible says so in,
“1 Timothy 5:6 - But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth” The pleasures of this earth brings us closer to hell.
Take a decision now! This is the day that the Lord has made! If you feel you are not able to come out of it or if you feel you are chained to your comfort zone as Samson was to Delilah. Ask God for help. Tell him “Lord just one more time, Strengthen me Lord to come out of this filth” Samson did cry like this. Moreover, our Lord heard his cries. Our Lord is not partial. When he can help someone like Samson, he can as well help you too. Our Lord is the epitome of compassion, that’s the reason why he gave his life on the cross of Calvary for you and me. Ask him, he will surely help you.
Go ahead my friend just be transparent in HIS presence. Please do not act in the presence of the Lord. Please do not be conscious of the people around you. Your Church, your pastor, your family, your friends, none of them can take you to heaven, it is the way you choose to live your life that would determine the outcome of your spiritual future. So, please don't act as if you are Holy. No one is Holy in this world except our LORD. Our God knows everything about you. He is longing for you. All that He wants from you is to accept your failures, your weaknesses, your turmoil and your hurts. He wants to change your life. He wants to lift you up and show to this world, how precious you are! You know you are fearfully and wonderfully made to fulfil the vision and mission for which our Lord had created you. There is none like you before, now or after you. God had created only one of your kind and that’s you God will surely fulfil HIS mission in your life through you and not through somebody else. He wants to use you for a specific purpose. He can use any Tom, Dick or Harry. Nevertheless, he wants you and only you. Give your all to JESUS. Let JESUS become your all in all.
When JESUS becomes your all in all, you will seldom fall.
                        &am p;nb sp; * * *

Praise to be Jesus Name
Everyday a Philistine giant, by the name Goliath stood in the valley and threw a challenge to Israelites. He was asking the Israelites to send one of their men to fight him. If the Israel soldier was overpowered, Saul and his men should become servants to the Philistines and if Goliath lost, the Philistines would become servants to the Israelites. Since there was not a single soldier, ready to accept the challenge he started mocking at the Israelites. Even Saul, a mighty warrior and the king of Israel was not ready to accept the challenge. Everyone seems to have forgotten the miracle - working hand of God. They were not ready to step out of their comfort zone. They had a few queries in their minds. What will be my position, if I lost the fight with this giant? Where would my family go? What would be the future of my family and my country?
King Saul had seen the hand of God, on many previous occasions. Nevertheless, now he was not prepared mentally, physically, and spiritually to lean or trust God. He thought that the situation was more complicated than what he had seen before. He had forgotten that the name of the Lord is a Strong Tower. He forgot that the name of the Lord is greater than the name of this giant. Suddenly from nowhere, came a little teenager who had come to see his three brothers. They were all soldiers of the Israel Army. His father had sent him to see how his three brothers were and bring back some assurance from them, for they were with Saul and all the men of Israel fighting against to philistines.
When David heard Goliath’s mockery, he was not willing to runaway from the challenge. For, he loved his Lord, more than his life. He was not able to accept a gentile mocking at the name of Lord of Hosts. He wanted to fight Goliath. He was taken to king Saul. At first Saul tried to dissuade David from fighting against Goliath. However, the brave David prevailed upon his king. Saul dressed him with Armour & bronze helmet. But David said that he was not used to these weapons at all. He had the Armour of God with him. David knew this! He stepped out of his comfort zone. He could’ve easily gone back home. It would be smooth sailing. Nevertheless, he was zealous for the Lord.
David had never fought with men before. Of course, he had killed a lion and a bear while watching his sheep. However, this was new to him. A gentle shepherd was ready to lay down his precious life for the sake of HIS LORD. Whereas Saul, the king a seasoned warrior was not willing to come out of his comfort zone. Maybe he wanted to stay on as king at someone else’s cost, who knows what was in his mind?
Returning to the scene, David took his staff and went the stream nearby chose five pebbles and put them into his shepherd’s bag and with a sling in his hand approached Goliath. When Goliath saw this small, chubby, handsome boy coming towards him with a stick, he despised him! He asked David if he was a dog that he came with sticks. He then cursed David by the name of his Gods and asked David to come to him so that he would give David’s flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field.
David didn’t tremble. For he knew, that God chooses the weak over the strong. If you feel that you are just an ordinary person without looks, talents, brains or brawn, remember that you’re the only one of your kind. There cannot be another person like you. God doesn’t create fakes; you are original, destined to finish God’s will. Only you can finish God’s mission who he has planned in your life. There cannot be a substitute. CHEER UP! His grace is sufficient for you. Keep praising God for your failures as you praise HIM for your successes. Thank God for your life. You may be ordinary. That’s what God wants from you. God always does extraordinary things thru the ordinary. He does great things through small things.
Ventured to fight Goliath, a small teenage Shepherd boy against a nine-foot tall giant. What a mismatch! Goliath had covered his head with a bronze helmet and wore a coat of scale Armour of bronze weighing five thousand shekels (about 135 pounds/57 kilograms) on his legs he wore bronze greaves and a bronze Javelin was slung on his back. His spear shaft was like a weaver’s rod and its iron point alone weighed six hundred shekels (about 13 pounds/7 kilograms). David with just a stick, five pebbles in his shepherd’s bag and a sting was prepared to meet the mighty Goliath.
I was wondering why he took just five pebbles, why not three or six? I got the answer, when I read what, David said to Goliath,
Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.” Sam 17:45–47.
David tells Goliath that he comes against him the name of the Lord. Well he knew the name of the Lord. He took five pebbles one for each name.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called
WONDERFUL,
COUNSELOR,
THE MIGHTY GOD,
THE EVERLASTING FATHER,
THE PRINCE OF PEACE.” Isaiah 9:6
When he took the first stone, it was Wonderful, second one Counselor, third Mighty God, fourth Everlasting Father and fifth Prince of Peace. Well, he knew that his Lord would come down from heaven and give his life on the cross for you and me. He also knew that our Lord Jesus Christ would have five wounds four on his hands and feet and the fifth on his side when the soldier spread him, while he was still hanging on the cross. FIVE NAMES and FIVE WOUNDS, hence five pebbles.
David took just one pebble, slung it, and stuck Goliath on his forehead. THUD! He fell face down on the ground like a pack of cards. How is it that he fell face down? He should have fallen on his back when he was struck from the front on his forehead but it was not to be. It was vice versa! How was it possible? Maybe God would’ve struck Goliath from behind. The name of the Lord is a strong tower. Goliath face down, it’s highly impossible considering the height and enormous weight of this giant.
Our God is a God of impossibilities! So don’t every say its ‘impossible’. With a little help from God, everything is possible. You will neither see wind nor see clouds but if you dig trenches with faith, our God is truly faithful to fill them with water, that’s what he did, he does and he will do it forever and ever. His is the same unchanging God yesterday, today and forever. If you believe, you will see the Glory of God.
Do you still say that its impossible for you to set right all that which had gone wrong?
Isaiah 45:2 - I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron.
            &am  p;nb sp;

Jesus is ready to make straight, all those ways, which we had made crooked through our sin and iniquities. Amen.
With Jesus, nothing is impossible. Without him, we are all zeros. However, with him we are “HEROES” David did it with the name of the Lord; all because, he was ready to step out of the comfort zone. He knew that the LORD is JEHOVAH NISSI- the banner of victory and that’s what the Bible says,
1 Samuel 17:47 - And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.

You will be filled according to the measure you have.
